New Job!!! New Crafty Room { well.. almost finished} Ink on the floor and a little craft project.

So Monday was my first day at Edu-Prize. I am teaching Kinder-art from 11:15- 12:30. I have 2 classes each day and I get to be in charge of picking the art projects for the week. After that I have playground duty for 1 1/2 hours and finish up with carpool. Ive met some super awesome people and can't thank Erica for getting me this swell job! Love ya! Now on the my craft room / office. We decided to move the girls all into the same room. Maddie's room was ginormous so it worked beautifully. We now have an office/ craft room. YAY! So I had some oops paint that I've had sitting around for a year and I cracked the sucker open and started to paint away. Thank you again Erica for helping me finish. I then painted a stripe across the top portion of the wall.. but I still need to paint the 2 thin stripes one on top and the other below the thicker stripe. { thanks for the advice all my girlie peeps} Robert put in a long counter as well as some oak cabinets from the Wright Engineering's remodel. I of course had to put up the wall saying from the Becky Higgins crop above the window... and can I just say how much I love it? { don't pay attention to my crooked application} All we need to do is finish the painting and hang the floating shelves so I can put my awesome paint cans with my ribbon in them. So here's the progress thus far!









On to the ink on the floor!!! Argh! I was making dinner and Kimberly was in the office doing her homework. Well Maddie took a black sharpie marker and colored all over the computer screen and the tower and then to top it off..the CARPET!!!!!!!!!!! In a semi-circle she drew lines!! I tried rubbing alcohol on the computer and it came right off. I tried nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, and carpet cleaner on the carpet and NO LUCK!! So here's our ghetto carpet! Argh!!!



On Sunday night I had a last minute get together and someone (crap I can't remember who it was LOL!) suggested something for on top of my kitchen cabinets. I have a cow theme and they said that it could be cute to add large letters spelling out milk,moo, or cow. So I bought the letters from Wal-mart and painted creme first, added crackle, and a top coat of black. I then distressed it and whaa la!! I love it!!! Thanks mystery person, whoever you are for giving me such a cute idea! :)

Peanut Butter without the Jelly, Adam's Homecoming, a new Baby and a new "Do"

This past week has been an eventful one. I'll start with the peanut butter story first. So Sunday afternoon I was going to take a nap and Robert was going to watch the kiddos. Well the dude fell asleep next to me and we were awakened by the overwhelming smell of peanut butter?! So Robert heads down stairs and see's the nightmare. Miss Maddie has decided to paint the inside of the pantry with peanut butter and man did she paint. She didn't stop there. She also painted the floor with P.B. and not to mention herself! As most of you know, we have 2 children who have serious allergies to nuts/P.B. but we have never had any issues of cross contamination before so we allow it in the house for Kimberly. So of course we panicked telling Kyle and Lydia to stay upstairs and I gave Lydia some Benedryl because her eyes started to itch. So we got that all cleaned up and here's some of the pictures of the pantry. PS... I cant believe I'm showing you my nasty pantry. HA

Now on to Adam. Adam my step bro came home on Tuesday from his mission in Colorado. It was so fun to get together as a family and celebrate his 2 year service to the Lord. Yay Adam!!!!

Now on to the new baby! Becky and Aaron just announced that they will be expecting another child in April. Auntie Sarah's going to have another niece or nephew! Whoo hoo!

Now on to OUR baby news. We have a new addition to our house hold. It weighs about 10 -15 pounds, is very colorful and glossy. It takes up alot of room but at least its quiet! Meet "big 'ol roll of crap to cut for the kids school". Yes I just did say that. Check this out. A huge roll of laminated borders to cut out. Now mind you I'm more then willing to help and I did sign up to do stuff at home, but I was dying at how large this project is going to be! HA So to explain the pictures below, we wondered how long this roll actually was. So being the cutting edge scientist that we are, we unrolled it. So from the back of our kitchen all the way through our living room. Out the front door up the front walk, through the front yard to the sidewalk and halfway to Twylla's house 2 doors down!! Yes I know we are 100 % nerds for doing this but hey..it was somewhat amusing. So here is my plea...if any of you all would love to come and cut and cut of and cut some bulletin borders with me..give me a hollar. I swear its almost like cross stitching..VERY therapeutic! LOL!

On to my new do..here is the awesome haircut that Leslie the "bomb diggity" did for me Friday night. Thanks lovely lady!!! Also I got those 2 hairy caterpillar's of an eyebrow waxed! All these wonderful salon services..cut, color, style and wax only cost me $19.50 my friends!!!! If your interested in the discount card that Leslie gave me let me know because she has more. Atkinson Family Sugar Cookies

In celebration of Christmas being just around the corner and the fact that I just made my Christmas sugar cookies for the surprise scrap night, I thought that I'd share the recipe with all of you. Since I learned from convention to photograph your food..I whipped out my camera when I was making these so here ya go!!! Enjoy and Happy fall!!!

Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 large egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tarter

1. Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
2. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets lighty.
3. Divide dough in half. Roll each 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes.
4. Bake 7-8 minutes or until edges are light brown. I under back slightly because I love them to be soft and yummy. Cool on wire rack.
5. I frost them with a basic homemade Buttercream frosting! Enjoy and it makes 5 dozen 2 inch cookies.

Friday night I had some of my Flippin Sweet Peeps over for some girl time. Erica, Twylla, Deneigh and Beth came over to scrapbook... YAY! We had a awesome time and Twylla...I was sooo not laughing at you and your boots, but with YOU. So I have to show off your stylin boots that protect you from the evil forces of rattlesnakes that are out to get you! YIKES!



So after Twylla and Erica bailed out at an early 10:45 the rest of the girls scrapped and I made a card for Super Saturday and I think they turned out super cute. The lower one was the one I made for Lydias baptism announcement changed with the smile rub-on. The ones Im most excited about are the baby ones!!! They're super simple and thats what I love about them. So now I have to make a Christmas card..wish me luck.








Since I took so many pictures of Maddie I felt like I wanted to take the other kids out for some fall pictures last night. Well the sun was going down and so the majority of my pictures didnt turn out very well. So I thought I'd share some with you anyway. Have a wonderful day!

Fall is in the air!! Maddie's Fall Photo Shoot!

Happy Fall everyone. Im soooo very excited to share this weeks photography. I've been eying a location out here which is phenomenal and I finally decided to pack Maddie up and make her be my guinea pig for the afternoon. Based on some advice from another photographer, I decided to play around with RAW and I love it to say the least and its so much easier to edit and get the color's that I want.
